Good Evening

Shell had a great evening. Getting better, as she did 5 laps around the ward. The news from Dr. Souf
has really encouraged and inspired her to get moving and active. She also had more of an appetite tonight.
Very emotional for me tonight. When I was leaving she said today was dedicated to her loving husband.

I forgot to mention that Shell's brother Trent (Uncle Mort),flew in from Calgary. The kids love Uncle Mort. He brings lots of laughs and energy. He also is a Reiki Master. He performed some reiki on Shell, which I am sure is going to help the healing process as well as help her sleep.

I would like to say hello to all the NHL Scouts who have been asking about Shell and keeping her in their thoughts and prayers. Although we work for other teams it is a very tight community. Safe travels boys.

  1. Yahoo!! I am so excited to read all this good news! Prayers of thanks shall be included in my prayers for courage, strength and healing for the Lowes Family!! Just think, if Shelley did a lap for each one of us Blog Stalkers....well, the possiblities are endless...just like all the love and encouragement coming your way!

  2. Yay Shelley! Get better girl!!

  3. Way to go Shell. I know you have the will and determination to beat this. I was so looking forward to seeing you this weekend, but have come down with a cold and flu. You are all in my prayers. And Bob you have been this families rock, the love you have for Shell I know is giving her the determination and the strength that she needs. Hang in there .... one day at a time.
    Love you all,

  4. Great News and just in time - the beads were falling apart!! (nothing that some twist ties can't fix)
Cancer... you picked the wrong woman!!!! You will beat this Shel, you have just climbed the first mountain. You've got a bumpy road ahead of you, but your positive attitude reminds me so much of Julie when she fought ovarian cancer and that was 19 years ago!

I thought you could all appreciate an inspirational quote from one of my favorite scholars:

"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!"
    ~Dr. Seuss

Keep fighting the fight Shel and get out your bat!

As always - our love and prayers
    The Wagar's!

  7. Awesome news! Way to battle through it Shell! I'm sure the Reiki will be very calming and relaxing for you. So good to hear you are making upswing progress. ANd as always, great work Big Bobby Blogger. When Shell gets back at it, you'll have to make some cameo appearances so we can all benefit from your "slant" on things!

  8. YIPPEE!!! I am totally doing a happy dance for Shelley! It is so great to hear good news... I will keep praying for you all.

  9. Determination? Perseverance? Stubborness? I think the latter is more your style of recovery! Go Hard!

    Starla & Ben

  12. Hey guys! thats great news way to go Shell! I bet you are starting to make lots of freinds at that hospital especially now since you are up and walking around the ward as many times as you have been.
Trent performing the Reiki on you for sure would have helped too! thats awesome!
Although there was no one at $Rich$ n Sweeties to perform Reiki last night $Rich$ had a substitute he used in order to warm us up, feel better and sleep well throught the night!
we are sure happy for your progress and hope you have a great day!

  13. Great to hear you are felling better, Shelley! If this keeps up, I may be swayed over to the "Reiki"-side. Bob, I really appreciate you taking the time to update the wonderful to hear the good news as it happens!
Thinking of you, Kathy and Tim

    1. Bob have you managed to find that spell seems I could use it!

  14. Hey Shelley,

I just wanted you to know you and your family are in our thoughts and Prayers. It is so encouraging to hear you are starting to move around more and feel a little more like eating! It is also great to hear some encouraging words from your doctor!

You are going to get through this. You have a wonderful spirit, faith and awesome support. I truly believe things happen for a reason and in God's time You will be healed, You will recover and You will stand Victorious! Keep Praying, fighting and remember you are loved!

Thank you for sharing this journey with us! May everyone reading this blog understand the importance of getting a yearly physical and dont ignore the little warning signs.

Much love and prayers to you!

Big Bobby Blogger....Next time you are coming to Brandon let me and I will have some fresh Cheese Buns and baking waiting for you! Or the next time I am passing through Regina I will drop some off for you! Think of you guys often!

    May God Bless you!
