Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma (IDC)

IDC is the most common type of breast cancer. It starts in the milk ducts of your breast and spreads to surrounding tissues. IDC could spread through the lymph system or bloodstream to other parts of your body.

The January MRI concluded there is a multifocal malignancy.  A 1.7 x 1.5 cm spiculated enhancing mass is confirmed.  Several much smaller nodular and linear enhancing lesions are noted anterior and inferior to the main lesion.

The January biopsy showed that one of the core biopsies is partially replaced by invasive carcinoma.  The tumour is  composed of nests of malignant cells with
intermediate nuclea grade features which infiltrate the stroma with a desmoplastic reaction.  There is a focus of low grade duct carcinoma in situ.  There is a focal perineural invasion.

Recommendation: Mastectomy
